I would like to thank everyone who expressed interest in my Vibe amplifier and who contributed to my "higher purpose". Many of the emails I received touched my heart. There were over 50 entries in this contest, and your donations raised over $1000 for Ovarian Cancer Canada. I am very thankful for that.
I would also like to thank yet again Michael Mortimer (Modulus Amplification) and Mason Atom Wolak (TMI Amplification) for supplying the head cab and etched faceplates. These gents do extremely good work and are very professional, so please check them out. Now, without further delay, it's time to name the winner of the 2019 V2 Amp Lotto. That person is DONALD WALLACE BROGAN. Congrats Donald! I'll be in touch tomorrow to arrange final details and delivery of your brand-new V2 Vibe amplifier! The V2 Vibe blurs the lines between "plexi" amps and the "800" amps that followed. The single guitar input is split between two parallel gain stages - one fatter and one brighter - that are bridged internally (no need for a patch cable). The front-panel Vibe control allows the user to dial in hot-rodded plexi tones, JCM800+ tones, or anything in between. This particular Vibe is powered by a pair of 6V6 tubes (fixed bias, with separate bias adjustment for each power tube) and sports several features that are often missing from amps in the 18-20W range, including presence and body (aka resonance) controls.
On January 31, I will give away the Vibe pictured below. The "lotto amp" will come without tubes, but tubes and a buffered effects loop can be added at cost. The winner will have to cover the actual shipping costs. *** Michael Mortimer from modulusamplification.com supplied a tolex-covered head cab free of charge. Thank you Michael!!! *** Mason Atom Wolak at TMI Amplification provided the control panels - Thank you Mason! How to enter. The entry period is over - Tabulating names now... Good luck everyone!!!! The new V2 Vibe amp rocks. Soon I will announce details about how you could WIN a Vibe chassis. Stay tuned!
